Structured settlement loans are given against plaintiffs’ periodic claim settlements. Court judgments where a structured settlement is awarded are called periodic payment judgments. For example, I recently spoke with a small business owner who told me he was in financial trouble and was looking for ideas to save his business. He then mentioned that he was taking his family on vacation next month. He must have felt it necessary to justify his vacation plans because he proceeded to tell me he was taking the vacation in spite of his dire financial situation as it was important to create a positive memory and good time for his kids. I wonder how much he’ll enjoy the vacation when his business is about to tank.

If you’re in financial trouble or see it looming on the horizon, please don’t try to justify spending any more money, cut every expense today and when you’re out of debt start saving and building at least a years worth of financial reserve. It can be done! Good luck.

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing in which a properly attuned Reiki Practitioner serves as a conduit for Universal Life Force (or ReiKi). The Reiki practitioner opens them self up as a conduit for a semi-sentient energy summoned from a higher source to facilitate healing or correct a person’s aura. The Reiki Practitioner is not a healer per se - but the energy moves through them to work with the recipient’s higher will in correcting imbalances and treating situations from the core causal point rather than the effect. This is thought to have a beneficial effect on the body, mind, and spirit, emotional and in Indian systems - the chakra system.

Everything in the universe is thought to have an underlying energy that gives it form, structure, health, strength and autonomy. This invisible, but formidable force is called the Chi by Chinese mystics and martial artists and referred to as Prana by Indian masters and healers. It is also called “orgone energy” and the practice itself is also described by the names Chi Gong and Polarity therapy. Whatever you want to call it, the word Reiki literally means “Universal Life Force.” Reiki is capable of healing anything because it works at very fundamental levels of reality. The level of reality where Reiki operates is the underlying energy structure of matter, as the physical matter we see around us is a solidified form of energy.

The health, flow and strength of this force are thought to be affected by our thoughts. Think negative thoughts and manifest diseases and unfortunate events. Think positive thoughts and good health and good fortune. Think nothing and achieve bliss. Reiki is really about helping those who are stuck in self, access the healing energies of a higher power. In some ways too, Reiki can be called an active, ritualistic form of prayer.

A Reiki healing is a very simple, and quite religious act of faith. In essence, the Reiki Healer or Master can be seen as a channel or vessel for the transformative power of God’s love. The practitioner places his or her hands upon the person to be healed with the intent for healing to occur, and then the energy begins flowing. Into the afflicted part of the body, without any judgement or thoughts from the Reiki Master. The healer draws exactly the amount of needed energy to the recipient. There is no conscious intervention or appeal on the part of the healer who are there to keep the “healing space” open between the diseased or troubled person and the divine love before. The healer/s job is to get out of the way and be a conduit. Often, if you will observe a Reiki healer, he or she will appear to stop and watch or listen for signs of what to do next, from a silent voice.

Traditionally, the healer is taught a set of hand positions that are postured over the sick or troubled person’s body. These sometimes look like the Reiki master is giving the person a massage from mid hair. The Reiki Practitioner will occasionally make scooping or actions like he is smoothing a bedspread. This is all part of his intent to intuitively correct energy imbalances in your aura. Some healers will also place their hands directly on a sick or ill part of a body and keep them there as long as necessary.

Reiki can also be used to still emotional storms as well as heal relationships. This is done by correcting the subtle energies of what is known as the “orgone body”, “electromagnetic field” or the aura. Often, hands are passed through the air, once again, removing blocks and negative entities or thought forms from the person’s force field.

Reiki is also used to heal individuals at a distance. This is also called “remote healing”. Although it is not always necessary, the Reiki healer will ask for an object or create an object that represents the ill person. Treating the object is thought to also treat the person at a long distance away.

Some very talented Reiki masters have also been known to heal objects such as cars, computers and traffic jams. The idea is to act as a vessel and send the situation light so that it will correct itself.

In a way, Reiki is also about breaking bad patterns. The great sages always despise anything too habitual as it is thought to cause stagnation and disease. Good interference from a well trained Reiki master or light worker is thought to break these patterns and allow fresh energy to trigger the process of healing.

There are as many varied opinions on what “plan” one should
follow to build muscle, as there are people who have those
opinions. On one thing they do agree, however. You must have a
regimen. You can begin by defining your objective. Why are
you interested in body building? What do you hope to
accomplish? What is your ultimate goal?

It’s all about commitment and belief. There is an abundance of
information about how to begin and conduct your journey, but
without a burning desire to achieve, you are doomed to
inevitable failure.

The following tips are not intended to be a “one size fits all.”
Take from it what you will. In that light, consider the
following list:

1.Before beginning any serious weight lifting or body building
regimen, consult your physician.

2.Set your goals. Define what you expect to achieve with your
new bodybuilding campaign within a realistic time frame. If you
create goals that are unattainable you are setting yourself up
for failure. You can become bored, disappointed and
disillusioned to the point where you may give up. This is a very
sad outcome to what might have been the best decision of your
life. Don’t sell yourself short. Set your long-term goals, of
course, but also set short-term goals that are achievable. And,
don’t forget to reward yourself when you do achieve them.

3.Consider the costs. If you don’t already have a budget, create
one. Then, determine what amount of discretionary funds you have
available for your bodybuilding program. This will determine
whether you can afford to have a home gym or if your needs would
better be served by joining a club. Joining a club is still a
good short-term introduction before spending hundreds or
thousands of dollars on equipment that might not be appropriate
for your needs.

4.Don’t forget some of the low cost alternatives to purchasing
your bodybuilding equipment. If used equipment is still
functional why spend the extra dollars just for a little glitz!
Good, brand name used equipment is every bit as functional as
something right off a showroom floor.

5.Consider combining a home gym along with a membership in a
public facility. Purchase less expensive free weight equipment
for use at home and join a gym to have access to the more
expensive equipment. You can design your entire workout routines
around a combination such as this.

6.Eat healthy! This can’t be stressed enough. The only true
bodybuilding aids are good nutrition. Consult a licensed
dietician. Watch your local community calendar for free seminars
on diet and nutrition. Learn all you can about what nature
freely provides that can help you to develop a healthy diet.
7.If you choose to use dietary supplements, make certain that
you know what you are putting in your body. Follow the packaging
guidelines we outlined above. Ask your physician for his/her
recommendations based on the regimen you have selected. No
friend, coach or acquaintance can take the place of your
physician. In fact, you may even investigate finding a physician
who specializes in sports wellness.

8.Be kind to yourself. Yes, it’s important to push to achieve
your goals, but it’s very easy to tip the scales in the other
direction and create a nightmare for yourself. Obsessive,
compulsive behaviors are not conducive to a healthy bodybuilding
lifestyle.

Mortgage insurance is coverage to the mortgage lender in case of the potential default of payments by the borrower. It is an insurance policy like any other, and requires premiums to the paid. Premiums are generally passed on by the mortgage lender to the buyers of the mortgage. Mortgage buyers may wish to pay the premiums either on a monthly basis, or as a lump sum amount at the end of the year or closing period. Call centers may also cold-call the mortgage borrowers themselves. There are not many mortgage insurance websites that generate leads. The few mortgage lead generation websites that exist have mortgage borrowers fill in online forms and pre-qualify them for mortgage insurance policies. Pre-qualified leads are passed on to the mortgage insurance company. Since the leads are already pre-qualified, it saves both time and money for the insurance company.

The reason for the lower number of lead generation companies existing in the mortgage insurance field is that most of the mortgage insurance companies are tied up or affiliated with leading mortgage providers. Hence, when a mortgage is sold, the insurance policy is bundled along with the mortgage. This is known as capitalization of the mortgage, and is the norm employed by most companies.

Social Skills in the Workplace: A Case Study to Help Your Employee with Asperger Syndrome

We again visit the workplace of employer ‘Jack’ and his new employee ‘Al’ who has Asperger Syndrome. In this small informal office, Al felt discomfort and confusion with ordinary routines related to phones, break time and workplace jargon. In this next phase of our work together, we designed three customized action plans, which helped Al succeed with the more social side of office responsibilities.

Jack: “When it comes to the job he was hired to do, Al is outstanding. But when people skills are required, he flounders. He goes off topic or seems confused about what people do in ordinary daily situations.”

Jack decided he would work directly and discreetly with Al, to help him feel less ‘centered out’ for this personalized training program. Co-workers had ’supporting roles’ but Jack was the one-to-one trainer and advocate for Al.

We created action plans for these three social aspects of office life:
1. Telephone Conversation Skills

2. Flexibility and Feelings of Fitting In

3. Expressions of Speech

Goal #1 Telephone Conversation Skills

Jack: “Sometimes we have to rely on Al to cover phones for parts of the day when the office is short on staff. Al tells me he has had some bad experiences trying to figure out what to say on the phone. I can see he is anxious about this.”

The Plan: Al and Jack created a phone answering ’script sheet’ that gave Al the words and phrases for opening greetings, message taking, transferring calls, general comments about who to speak to for what, and a few social niceties. They role played privately in Jack’s office. Jack asked Al to keep his conversations business-like brief. Al’s scripted answer to
“How are you today?” was “Fine, thank you.” since Al was sometimes tempted to answer with enthusiastic details more appropriate for social conversation with friends. If someone’s question threw him a curve, Al’s SOS script was “Please hold for someone who can help you.” and immediately transfer the call to Jack or Jack’s assistant. Al’s phone skills grew and on his own initiative, he spent time sitting in areas where he could listen and learn from co-workers fielding phone calls.

Goal #2 Flexibility and Feelings of Fitting In

Jack: “Al gets fixated on his work. It’s a quality that turns into a disadvantage at times. Other things come with this job! Time is open ended for Al! I want him to know when to focus on something else that needs to be taken care of, or even just have lunch.”

The Plan: This was a two-step plan:
1. Jack worked with Al to clarify and prioritize tasks that could be done over time, and tasks that had deadlines that were more pressing. He explained to Al that it was important and encouraged to stop and take breaks on occasions that threw the usual routine off schedule, such as an office staff meeting or a birthday gathering.

2. Jack and Al collaborated on a set of guiding questions, which helped to steer Al into another activity, if necessary. To help him break focus and evaluate, Al set his watch to beep three times a day to remind him to review his questions list:

“Is there something else I need to tend to right now?”
“Is something going on that everyone else is a part of?”
“What do I need to do before getting back to my work?”

Al faithfully relied on his ‘guiding questions’ once he experienced how good it felt to fit in with the normal office rhythms.

Goal #3 Expressions of Speech

Office life had its own culture and early on Al was grappling with language that, for him, was a garble of confusing messages.

Jack: “Al is really mystified by phrases we all take for granted here. When we use expressions new to Al, like ’shift gears’ or ‘hit the ground running’ I can see he is baffled. When a co-worker said “I am fit to be tied,” Al did not make the connection that his co-worker was feeling short of patience and frustrated.

The Plan: Al was encouraged to be honest and ask people to rephrase statements or instructions he did not understand. One of Al’s strengths was memory for information so once he understood he was on board when the expression came up again. His co-workers were very kind in helping him with work-place vocabulary and Al enjoyed that support. It was thrilling for him to experience the feeling of belonging in this office, so it got to be something of a game for Al to find new work related figures of speech.

In Closing:

These action plans took time and planning, but were successful because Jack saw the long-term value in the commitment required. And Al, who was painfully aware of his social skill ‘deficits’ was receptive to the program and delighted with the good feelings that come with support and progress.
