Weight-Loss Secrets: The 3 Meal Lie / The Fat Maker & Heart Killer

Filed under: Life Of Medicine — admin at 12:30 am on Monday, May 26, 2008

Welcome to Weight-Loss Secrets. This article series is going to consist of common sense conclusions that can be derived from current research and generally accepted facts.

I won’t waste your time like the scientists that took 2 years to determine that eating fast food makes you fat (duuuh). At times you may find a lot of these topics VERY theoretical but since I dont have millions to dump into proving the obvious we’ll just have to act ahead of science and wait for the studies to catch up to common sense 20 years from now.

Want a sample of these common sense health conclusions?

Sure you do……

COMMON-SENSE CONCLUSION: Eat 3 Meals get Fat FAST!

3 meals sounds logical. You’ve heard it all your life. Hell, you’ve eaten 3 square meals all your life. But Why!?

Bet you’ve never really given it any thought have you? Whats more natural than bacon, eggs and sausage with some flapjacks in the morning? A hamburger for lunch and a nice steak for dinner?

That doesnt sound sooooo… bad does it?

Except for the fact that it’s the exact opposite of YOUR nature!!

Think about it. Humans have been around for millions of years (or 6,000 depending on your religious beliefs) and for the majority of that existence it required you to catch your own dinner or you wouldn’t eat.

Think about that for 1 second and the natural eating plan starts to become clear. If you were a caveman you would get up in the morning and prepare to hunt for todays dinner. Meat was planned to be that evenings feast.

Meat wasnt there for breakfast or lunch and dinner was a real maybe. Until the lucky hunter caught meat he ate things that were a lot easier to catch - fruits and vegetables!

So a typical day would have the hunter rising and eating nuts, berries, veggies or fruit (slow-release carbs that provide continuous energy for the hunt).

During the day the hunter could turn to these same items to stave off hunger and keep him fueled for the fight without making him sleepy.

An end of day successful hunt would provide meat and a feast!

And so it basically went for millions of years….

Can you imagine teleporting a caveman raised like that to present day America and letting him eat at your table? What do you think would happen to him when fed your diet of non-stop meat and between meal snacks? Of course he’d get fat as a pig!

We’ll the jokes on you. You are that caveman. Your genes and his share over 99% of the same DNA. You body reacts just like his would in todays toxic environment.

If I was a caveman you’d better believe that I wouldn’t be getting up 3 times a day and chasing down some animal just because its time to eat. My family line probably discovered that plants were edible.

I know I would have. When cavewife tried to get me up for the breakfast hunt I’d have snatched the nearest plant ate it, took a couple chews, taste it. Ummmmm, tastes good. I’m not sick. Here baby, eat this and give some to the kids. Wake me up for the next hunt….

See? It doesnt make sense. It really seems natural that we would only have to hunt and eat meat once a day and really the body is probably adapted to comfortably going without meat for days at a time.

Evolution hasnt adapted us to live in todays food world and probably wont for another couple million years.

The answer is to eat more like our genetic ancestors if we want improved weight control energy and health.

Heart disease is the #1 killer - 98%+ of those deaths can be attributed to plaque buildups that cause blockages leading to heart attack and stroke. - You were born with clean arteries how did they get so blocked?

Maybe it has something to do with the food we eat. Which raises another point. In the early 1900’s a doctor could go his entire career and never see a heart attack.

Huh! Well, what’s so different today? Could processed and fast-food have anything to do with it? Hmmm…..

America on verge of obesity epidemic - Heart blockages #1 killer

Hmmmmmmm………

Think there’s a link?

Could it be that we’re eating too much meat with saturated fat that’s clogging our arteries and leading to heart disease and stroke?

Especially when you consider that primitive man (you) wasn’t built to processed massive amounts of meat and chemicals that dont exist in nature.

Seems logical, it just hasnt been studied and proven yet.

I have decided not to wait for the study (and the possibility of becoming a fatal statistic) and draw logical conclusions and take pro-health action.

I have seen the positive results of these steps in my own life and this blog is my way to share these findings with you.

Common sense science you can live with.

In my next article I’ll show you how I easily work this tidbit of info into my daily life. Follow natures plan and you can practically eat all day to keep your energy up and avoid hunger without having to do anything weird like count calories, carbs or fat grams.

In the future I’ll share other health vanity issues like how to eliminate/reduce puffy eyes, EZ exercise programs and more.

Stay-tuned…

What Should You Sell on eBay?

Filed under: My Auctions — admin at 12:07 am on Monday, May 26, 2008

The short answer is; anything you can get for less than its actual worth.

One way of finding cheap goods to resell is by finding misspelt items listed by other eBayers. Suggesting this tends to get you shot down in flames by non-believers - but it does work.

For example:

Consider one of the most popular video games of the last couple of years - Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

If, in the middle of 2005, you could’ve bought this game for £10, do you think you could’ve made money? Of course you could, people were more than willing to pay £20 or so on eBay for this game.

Figuring out that many people would spell a word like Andreas wrong, I did a little experiment.

Using an eBay arbitrage tool, such as the one found at http://www.BenCatt.com/arbitrage.php I simply entered “san andreas” into the box and clicked Generate.

I was then given a clickable link which immediately searched all of eBay for misspellings of “San Andreas”.

Typically, each time I did this I would get around 20-30 results.

Next, I simply noted down the worst spelt examples and their eBay item numbers.

The most I was willing to pay for a PS2 version of the game was £11.50 in total i.e. the winning price plus the postage and packing.

So, I saved this search in the “My eBay” section of this site and every couple of days would note down new additions.

After finding the item numbers I then went to http://www.auctionsniper.com and set up automatic bidding on each item in the last 6 seconds for my maximum price.

If the postage for a PS2 version of the game was £2, my maximum bid price was set at £9.50.

The net result was that I was bidding on any misspelt San Andreas game automatically whether I was at my PC at the time or not.

Out of 45 attempts, I won 7 of the games - the cheapest at £8.50, the most expensive at £11.50.

Once I had the games “in hand”, I simply listed them on eBay for a Buy It Now price of between £16.50 to £18.00 with £2 postage charge. Each game was sold within the 10 day listing time for a healthy profit.

Examples of titles of the auctions I bid on were as follows:

Grand theft auto - San Andres

PS2 GAME GTA SANANDREAS

GRAND THEFT AUTO - SAN ADREAS

PS2 Grand Theft Auto San Anderas

My own listing title was optimised to ensure I captured as many potential buyers as possible through the search facility:

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Playstation 2 Game PS2 GTA

No keyword spamming, no ridiculous “L@@K” or “W@W”, just relevant words which an interested buyer would be searching for.

Total profit from the 7 listings after all fees and costs: £29.74 (+ 7 positive feedback points)

As you may or may not know, San Andreas is now available online for £14.99 or less, brand new and so it is not a viable profitmaker anymore. The game went platinum after Christmas and so halved in price.

However, there are plenty of other games which have slightly “complicated” spelling - the titles of which many people will make mistakes in spelling.

Look at the Amazon top 25 every couple of days and note down the titles of the items at the top of the chart. You can do this with any particular niche, just browse to the sections where your interest lies and you will see the “Amazon Hot 25″ list.

For example - the Hot 25 PS2 Games (with spelling mistakes found on eBay in brackets):

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (TimeSlitters, timespitters,
Timsplitters, timespliters)

Shadow of the Colossus (COLOSSU)

The Chronicles of Narnia (Cronicles)

Star Wars Battlefront II (BATTELFRONT, BATTLEFORNT)

Gran Turismo 4 (Tursimo, TRISMO)

Others:

King Kong (King King, Kingkong)

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories (LIBERY, LIBERT, LIBETY)

Perfect Dark Zero (prefect)

If you simply find the misspelt items, decide a maximum bid, set up your auction sniper and leave it to run, you will make money.

Of course, video games are just a simple example - your niche may be even more profitable!

Blocked, Stumped And Stuck: 12 Prompts To Get You Writing!

Filed under: World Of Marketing — admin at 7:34 am on Sunday, May 25, 2008

Beginning writers often wonder how to start writing. It’s theworry they get themselves into right away that mostly hindersthem from getting anything written down.

Experienced writers often get stuck in the middle of their novels, stories or articles. They sometimes agonize and worry about whatto write next and that’s how they are delayed.

Beginning and experienced writers and the writers in between cansometimes fall into the trap of getting themselves “blocked.”

So here are 12 writing prompts you, the beginning writer or theexperienced one, can use to start off your writing.

PROMPT # 1 “I write because…” Think of as many reasons as you can. Any reasons you know and feel you should and could write, and why you write. Then from your list, see if you can turn your reasons into an essay, a story or a poem.

PROMPT # 2 Sit still for five minutes. Close your eyes and listen. Don’t think, just listen. What sounds do you hear? Is there music? Rustling leaves? Is your TV on? After five minutes, write down all the sounds on a piece of paper. If you can’t think of the correct words for the sounds, write how they sounded (example: “bbbzzztttt” for something you heard). Now use the sounds on your list to create “sound poetry.”

PROMPT # 3: Use this prompt to start off your story: “When the dust settled, he saw…”

PROMPT # 4: Quotes are powerful writing starters. They evoke emotions, insights and inspirations for any writer. What’s your favorite quote? It may be something a famous dead person said, or a line in a song, or a passage in the Bible. Write the quote on top of your page and write your interpretation of your favorite quote. You can inspire, motivate or even impart a lesson.

PROMPT # 5: When was the last time you received a letter? Or a postcard? Who sent it? What did it say? Did you reply to the letter? Write yourself a letter. Pretend that you are somebody else. Put yourself in your neighbor’s shoes, or your old friend’s shoes. If you were them, what would you want to tell yourself, or want to know about yourself?

PROMPT # 6: When you ride a bus or a car in one of your trips, what do you do? Do you sleep during the trip? Do you stare out the window and watch unseeingly the view? Or do you take it all in — the greenery, the buildings, the people, the colors, the hues, the clouds? Recall the most recent trip you’ve had. Where did you come from and where were you going? Why were you going there? How long was the trip? What did you see on the way? This short exercise will help you with your power of recalling details. The more you recall, the more detailed your writing will be. Do this exercise on a regular basis and you will be able to write with good use of details.

PROMPT # 7: Watch your favorite movie. Afterwards, experiment on giving it different endings. If it’s a romantic movie with a mushy happy-ending, why not re-write the ending and say, have the guy end up with the other woman? Or if it’s an action film, ask yourself what would happen if the hero got killed. The thing here is you have to think of a different version for the movie’s ending.

Prompt # 8. Imagine you’re walking in a mall and all of a sudden, a woman grabs you by the hair and starts a catfight with you. What would you do? Would you fight back? If you’re a man, think of what you’ll do if another guy punched you on the nose for no reason at all. Would you punch back? Describe the “fight scene.”

Prompt # 9. Recall the last dream (or nightmare) you had. Describe the dream in detail.

Prompt # 10. If you were an animal, what would would you be? Why?

Prompt # 11. When you were in gradeschool, what was your most hated subject? Why did you hate it? Do you still hate it? Why or why not? Did the teacher have anything to do with it?

Prompt # 12. Put on your favorite CD or tape. What music comes out of it? When you listen to it, what do you feel? What comes into your mind?

I hope the prompts I have created for you will help you get thosewords out of your head and onto the paper.

Drop me a line and share with me your writing if you are inclined.Until then, great writing to you!

Car Hire in Berlin for World Cup 2006

Filed under: World Of Travel — admin at 7:45 am on Saturday, May 24, 2008

The World Cup in Germany this summer is se tot be not only the biggest sporting event of the decade but also the biggest tourist draw in Europe this year. Berlin will be the centrepiece for this celebration of the beautiful game hosting the final and, as capital of Germany, the main host for the festivities.

Although the influx of tourists is set to be huge, Berlin is well geared up for the opening of the tournament. As one of Europe’s most popular city break destinations and the host for major annual events such as the Love Parade, Berlin is well used to throwing a party. Accommodation however will be thin on the ground in Berlin and anyone looking for a late deal will be struggling to find anything within the parameters of Berlin itself but some of the major hotel booking resellers may have some late availability on the outskirts of the city or surrounding towns.

For true football fans getting around Germany during the World Cup might be a troublesome affair. Although Germany has one of the most efficient public transport systems in the world, it is also the largest country in Europe and with the 12 host cities spread throughout the land mass, the transport system is set to be bursting at the seams. Renting a car might be the best option for those looking to explore further than Berlin or to use the capital as a base for following their teams’ fortunes in the tournament. Most of the major car rental firms have a presence in the city and the road network in the city itself and throughout the host cities makes car hire in Berlin and for World cup 2006 a valid option.

Berlin has garnered a reputation as a cultural and party capital since reunification in 1990. A steady influx of short break tourists have ensured that the city has the facilities and tourist infrastructure that one would expect of a major European city and Berlin certainly does not disappoint. There are some interesting towns surrounding the capital and for those exploring the region by car the contrast between east and west although eroded over the last 16 years is still just visible.

The Great Plan of Insurrection

Filed under: Activists — admin at 2:01 am on Saturday, May 24, 2008

When you look at today’s society, you will see one grave statistic. And that is the statistic of the amount of people in poverty compared to the amount of people in luxury. We see people working eight to twelve hours a day, getting paid very poorly, given a very small allowance of what society produces, and then on the other side, we see men and women buying expensive drinks, clothes, houses, and cars. They are wealthy capitalists, or they are corporate executives, or they are politicians. Their income allows them to practice excess and have little time laboring. Whatever labor they do, it is to aid companies and businesses in increasing the price of food, increasing the price of housing, increasing the price of goods, necessities, commodities, clothing, and services. It also aids these businesses in paying their workers less, in laying off the least productive workers, in making the work day of the average laborer more productive, but also more stressful, more disappointing, and more overwhelming. In one word or two, we can describe the activities of the wealthy class as exploitive; they all seek, in one way or another, to make men labor and create vast quantities of wealth for their economic masters. This is the status of things, which every man of intellect will accept, which every working person will sadlly confess to, as every person concerned in the processes of government, no matter what their class, will agree upon. These are the way things are. It’s extremely oppressive and without any sense of natural justice. The way things are has become the enemy of the working man, and we work everyday so that we can overthrow these oppressive, exploitive relationships in society.

There is no doubt that the economy operates on this principle of exploitation. Who will deny that there is a small sect of wealthy people who have massive control over all of the produced wealth? Who will deny that most working class individuals are poor, without means to make themselves wealthy, without any direction in the economy except as a wage laborer? Who will deny that the wealthy use their influence to bribe political leaders, or use their wealth to support the campaign of a political leader who will support their interests? Who will deny that the poverty of the working man drives him to crimine, to preying on his fellow man to ease his pains that were caused by this system; that is to say, long work hours, low pay, and the misery of cruel labor? These are arguments that no serious person will ever doubt. These are not exaggerated statements. This is the situation of America it exists now and as it will continue to exist until we do something to change it. We, as Socialists, Communists, and Leftists, all seek to eliminate the Capitalist system.

The average person who looks at this, and agrees with these words, one of the members of the common working class who identifies himself as a Socialist and a Communist, when reading all of these arguments, he is content with the ideas, supportive of the measures, and a proponent of our initiatives. “The means of production must become the collective property of the public; there shall be no masters and no slaves in our society!” But, he errs; he becomes a Marxist. His solution to the problem has been to have a revolution of the voting poll; a swing shift of voters attempting to elect Socialist party candidates. “All we have to do is make tyranny illegal,” the nominated Socialist declares to a toast at his party headquarters. The working class soldiers rally to the call, but they soon become unimpressed and lose faith in the process of elections and campaigning. So long as a state exists, there will be great compromises between the working class desires and the interests of megacorporations and their billions of dollars of influence. So long as there is a state, there will always be a hierarchy, there will always be the dominating figure of authority threatening liberty, there will be unfair class divisions of the ruling over the ruled. In this regard, the government becomes our greatest enemy. And by government, Anarchists mean all organizations that are based on authority and oppression, on control and obedience. For all of these reasons, we have the understanding that Democratic control of the law is the only just means of social organization. It is the only method where the liberty of the average citizen is guaranteed in a society based on equity and tolerance, the precursors to a true freedom without leaders.

What then, I am asked, is the way in which we go about securing this better future for ourselves? Every other reform movement or social issue group in the past has worked towards legislation, lobbying, letter-writing. The Prohibitionists worked on getting anti-liquor candidates in to office. Many of the Civil Rights advocates lobbied to get anti-discrimination laws passed. And, again, the Feminist movement has to thank the vocal women who demanded the media not to glorify large-breasts or perfect body images. All of these movements in the past have effectively changed the status quo of society from their voting. It was the legislative process of the system that allowed for their minority opinions to become democratically important. I do not doubt the ability of the system to make some small changes, as insignificant bartering techniques with the working class, but the government never made any changes until they had been created by the people. There was no serious discussion about passing a Civil Rights bill in either the congress or the senate, until news studios started to carry stories about police dogs ripping apart African American protestors who are demanding their liberty.

The government itself has never taken on any of these great public works projects; it has never worked to improve the personality of mankind or enhance the liberty of artists, poets, and inventors. The government is, and always has been, the vanguard soldier of the past, ancient traditions of our forefathers. It has always been the enemy of whatever progressive policy brings to the table. Whether it’s the case for Civil Rights, the right for women to vote, the right of Homosexuals to be free of job discrimination, or the right of the working man to receive a minimum wage, it has always been opposed to by the government. The standing order of old power and wealthy rulers have always been the bitter and antagonistic enemies of these new changes. These changes always have to be yanked out of the hands of the establishment, they must be demanded with the powerful screams of a unified population; rights were never allowed by the oppressor on to the oppressed. There was always struggle, always battles, always social conflict. Once the popular movement of change and revolution has become accepted by its own direct action does the ruling class take notice. Only when there is serious pressure on them or they will lose their job will they ever act on behalf of the people. And while people are in the streets being beaten to death by police officers with clubs and batons, these “representatives of the people” are enjoying the plush seat of power, doing what they can to smother the liberation movements.

Martin Luther King Jr. never ran for presidency. He never sought out any office of any kind. His message was not a political one, but a social one. He didn’t drive his followers to the voting polls; he drove them to the streets! “Make the people in this national community understand our pain! Make the content people in their homes recognize that there are these terrible tragedies being inflicted on minority citizens! Be the change you seek in society!” The Communist or Socialist will tell you things will change by a new system of government, “one that breaks the seemingly concrete trend of governments oppressing the people.” What the workers must do is organize. They must work together and perform all matters and means of strike, boycott, and picket. As unionists, a group of people combined to express their interest as a group, we will be able to stop the entire structure of Capitalism. To survive, all businesses need labor. Without it, their factories will not get operated, their fields will not get farmed, their stores will not get stocked. If one business in an industry comes to a quick hault, the entire economical chain becomes unbalanced. The master corporations of the economy start to lose money, and they sense themselves losing power, and willing to give in to any deal so that they can start making their wealth back. But, if a union is smart, and federates itself with other unions of the same industry, then an entire industry can go on strike. For however long, necessities like coal, food, clothing, or oil will be completely rare. Society begs its masters to give in to the demands of the unionists, as the masters themselves suffer greatly. And the Capitalists quickly try to settle the matter; they strike an agreement with their workers for higher wages, lower hours, and job security. Liberals in office increase the minimum wage by $.25, but unions gain $3.00 per hour in collective bargaining agreements.

As unionists, we are men and women who are united together because we believe we are the common victim of this senseless social machine. We are citizens, students, thinkers, and friends. We make up the community and are the ones who are most concerned in alleviating the problems of everyday social life. The power of decision-making should not be in the hands of a few select who hold no care or concern for the workers. The power of decision-making should be in the hands of the people, in a completely democratic system where every person creates policy, as opposed to only the wealthiest creating policy. In supporting these ideals, as unionists, we also support the activities of Anarchists. Those stencilists, nighttime painters, these masters of graffiti and amateurs of the bomb, these pamphleteers and friends of the world. These are individuals who support libertarian organization, based on the idea of cooperating to obtain a common end, in this case, in abolishing capitalism. They are the protestors, the picket line extras, the weekend pamphleteers, the squatters, the shoplifters, the inner city drummers. As an Anarchist and a worker, I feel I am obligated to organize fellow workers in mutual, cooperative efforts to increase our wages and our working conditions. So should every worker. It is only by working day to day, earning the trust of fellow workers, and then organizing in a mutual, cooperative manner to obtain a better state of society, a better organization of social relationships.

Not only would this method of worker self-organization and cooperation help in obtaining the interests of the working class, but it would prepare the worker for his new role in a better society, in a better world. By working together as strikers, boycotters, and picketers, we are forcing our oppressors to make concessions to us, we are forcing them to give in to our demands and change the status quo. Above all, though, we are managing to obtain our ends without resorting to violence. No doubt, we must support our fellow comrades who use physical destruction without harming anyone, but we are all good and kind individuals of a peaceful, cooperative, and non-violent culture. If we can achieve political change without arming ourselves, we feel that we have accomplished an even more powerful goal. We showed the world how we can achieve political and social change by non-violent methods. The Bolsheviks achieved their political power by military uprisings. They gained power only through the gun and the soldier. Once they had gained this power, the public wanted them out of office. Lenin, the leader of this so-called Army of the People’s Republic, ignored the vote and seized power. Those leaders, who wanted to get prosperity, equity, and liberty for their people, as social and economic units, those leaders were often apt to becoming corrupt, cruel tyrants. This is not always the case, but there is certainly the possibility of it. For this reason, we support social and political change from the position of Direct Action, by striking, boycotting, and picketing; the real ends of cooperation in an economic sense for the good of our working class. If we can change the system, then we are worthy of the title revolutionary, but if we can change the system without bloodshed, then we are truly working class heroes.

If we look at the situation from every perspective, we will realize that the means of the strike is simply a method of civil disobedience. We are very much like those protestors who lock arms and disallow entrance to certain buildings, like those people who chain themselves to the doors of certain buildings, like those who form road blocks and march in streets and hold signs on the lawn of the capital of the nation. These activities prevent them from building and gaining power effectively. If we, for example, were to have the entire paper industry on strike, then all of those offices, stores, and other businesses that rely on paper would also be unable to function. We would prevent taxes in the form of sales tax, income tax, or social security tax. People wouldn’t be able to work or behave as they would in a normal system of human relations. So, the great and abominable Capitalist class falls to its knees, agrees to new contract and negotiation talks, and the strikers are allowed back at their jobs. The strike worked. The union succeeded. It was all because of the strength of the workers, in their boldness of their character that lets them risk employment to achieve a better world, in their loyalty to their fellow workers and their refusal to purchase products from oppressive corporations. By these traits, the working class will only be able to soar and create the type of society that at present we are only capable of dreaming of.

With all of this theory understood, with a common ground to stand with all others that you call your friends and allies, there is the question of title. What exactly is this movement of the working class? When many people look at the working class, they are content to believe that they are looking at people with hard habits, with rusty culture, with malnourished humor. They feel that a hard day’s work and a quick instinct for alcohol will make a man become thick minded and thick hearted. Those of us who know that we are being ripped off by this system of commodities and wage-slavery, we have agreed upon some very uniform principles in our revolution. We believe in a class unity, in a unity of all working people, without prejudice of race or skin color or nationality or religion, and I believe in the organization of these people in order to express the will of the general population. With our knowledge of authors, writers, and philosophers of the past, of Bakunin, Goldman, Malatesta, Proudhon, Godwin, and Paine, we have decided to call ourselves Anarcho-Communists, Anarchist Communists, Anarcho-Syndicalists, Unionists, Direct Actionists, Libertarian Communists, or sometimes just Anarchists.

Why Copyrights Are Important

Filed under: Money Making — admin at 10:54 pm on Friday, May 23, 2008

I learned a hard learned lesson by not copywriting an e-book I wrote a few years ago. I can’t say that I did not make a little bit of money before somebody stole my work, because I made around six thousand dollars off of one months work. But I wonder how much I could have made if I would have spoted the $35 for a United States Copyright.

I was selling my e-book on Ebay, selling around 50 copies a day at $4.99 each for the electronic version of my e-book. I was selling for a few months without any problems. Then one day I noticed somebody was trying to sell my e-book for $3.99, thus undercutting my own set price.

I emailed the individual and threatened them and told them it was wrong to resell my work. The person agreed and quit selling it. However, it wasn’t long before another person tried selling my work. This time when I contacted the person, the person emailed me back and said “tough luck, you don’t have a copyright.”

This person explained that they searched the U.S. copyright website and my book wasn’t in the database. She was right, it wasn’t. Pretty soon the book sold for as little as ninety nine cents and it was no longer worth my time to sell it.

Since then I have had a paperback book published and I can say it is copywritten. By the way, it hasn’t made near as much as my e-book did. Just another hard learned lesson in life!
